On Thursday, June 11, Koneksa hosted a webinar discussing the importance of tracking physical activity in cancer.

Presenters Dr. Nitin Ohri of Montefiore Medical Center and Dr. Elena Izmailova of Koneksa reviewed the potential for these tools to help in selecting patients fit for therapies and predicting outcomes, as well as the future of the field.

Why study wearables in oncology?

Performance status, quality of life, and the challenges of selecting a therapy

Progress in oncology has led to multiple treatment options for patients, and information on how these therapies affect quality of life is increasingly important to patients. Side effects can be significant, and traditional endpoints like response rates or progression-free survival may not fully reflect the patient experience. Additional information about how a therapy affects different aspects of life (like the ability to walk or exercise) can help patients feel confident in choosing the best fit for their unique situation.
